Our Response To The Great Commission

Every true Christian desires to fulfill the great commission. The greatest hindrance is fear. The fear of people and what they will say. A commission includes both the authority and the ability to carry it out. We have the authority Matthew 28:18-20) and the ability (Acts 1:8). The key is to bring Christians to a place to understand their part.
The great commission is Mark 16:15-20: 1) To preach the gospel to every creature 2) Heal the sick3) Cast out devils 4) Speak with new tongues 5) Handle serpents 6) If we drink anything deadly it will by no means harm you. It has been taught in times past that Christians need a special gift to raise the dead. This is not true. It is a commission to Christians. The five-fold ministry is to support the believer. The believer is the foundation. The believer is God’s plan.
According to Matthew 28:18-20, there is no authority apart from Jesus. You cannot give the devil authority because he does not have any. Jesus has it all and He’s not giving any to Satan. Your body doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to Jesus and you don’t have the right to giver the devil authority to do anything. Just because the devil is doing something to you doesn’t mean he has the right. John 1:12 “To as many as received Him (Jesus) to them he gave the right (authority) to become sons of God.” Luke 10:19 “Behold I give you ALL authority over ALL the power of the enemy and NOTHING shall by ant means hurt you.” That’s your badge. Acts 1:8 “You shall receive power (ability)…” that’s your gun. The devil has no authority anytime, anyplace over anyone. So stop giving him credit by testifying what he has done or what he is doing in your life. Especially after you have been prayed for.
Wherever you work or play, that’s where you are a missionary. The lie many Christians believe is that you can be normal. You go to church, confess Jesus, and don’t bother anyone. That’s religion. Not Christianity. Having good morals doesn’t make you a Christian. Why are you going? Jesus said, “Go ye.” We go because Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth. You don’t wait for anything. There is no excuse. All you are is the delivery person. The value of the gift given is not dependent on the goodness of the deliverer or the receiver. It is only dependent upon the goodness of the sender. If there is no heart change there is no new birth. Is your want to changed? Commitment, dying to self, service. This is the message of Christianity.
